WHY HIRE AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE?
Electric vehicles are significantly better for the environment than standard Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles, producing 80% less climate damaging emissions.
They are also significantly cheaper to run - equivalent to paying 30 cents per litre at the pump.
As a bonus - you don't need fill up before returning any of our fully electric vehicles. Choice!

WAYS TO CHARGE
EV CHARGING - THE BASICS
Charging an electric vehicle is a bit different from filling up at the gas pump, mainly due to the recharging options available, how long it takes for vehicles to charge and the effective driving range of the vehicles.
How long your it takes for your vehicle to charge obviously depends on how depleted the charge is, however this is also determined by the power output of the charging station you are using as below:

EV CHARGING STATIONS NZ
The majority of vehicle charging spots you'll find available in New Zealand are hosted by dedicated EV charging station providers like ChargeNet.
We believe the best tool for finding your nearest Public Charging Station is NZTA's EV Journey Planning Tool, embedded for your use below. .
These stations typically have Rapid charging connections which can add 100kms of range in in 20-30 mins, costing around $10/100km added. There are also free charging options available if you know where to look - fortunately we've created a list of free EV charging stations for your use further down this page.
